The School:
Les Ateliers du Carrousel is the school of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, located in the Carrousel of the Louvre, next to the Louvre Museum. The school annually hosts more than 1,900 students in 122 different courses. The school's forty teachers, all professional artists, faithfully retain the founding schemes of the workshops: "awakening the creative faculties of each student through contact with materials, objects and works."
For fifty years, the whole teaching in workshops is based on the dialectic.
The Course:
A total of 36 hours of instruction workshop with English teachers (two teachers for each session of 20 students
per group)

Cultural Visit: visit monuments and museum every afternoon after workshop. Two full day excursions.

Part 1 - Creating object
Tuesday:
10:30 - 12:30: drawing
13:30 -16:00: colour and composition
Wednesday:
10:30 to 12:30: visit the Museum of Decorative Arts / contemporary design department, sketches in the museum
13:30 -16:00: experiments in volume objects, projects of models (paper)
Thursday:
10:30 to 12:30: finalization of objects
13:30 -16:00: visit the Pompidou Centre collection of MNAM
Friday:
10:30 to 12:30: collective composition (bonding) around a parade of objects
13:30 -16:00: finalization and presentation.
Part 2 - Fashion Design
Monday:
10:30 to 12:30: Quick drawing exercises
13:30 -16:00: visit the Museum of Decorative Arts / exposure fashion department, sketches in the museum
Tuesday:
10:30 to 12:30: visit and sketch in the Louvre / study of representation of the costumes in classical painting
13:30 -16:00: research costume trends on a given topic
Wednesday:
10:30 to 12:30: Research figures (drawings, collage)
13:30 -16:00: production volume (accessory or reduced model with different materials)
